Even a smattering of snow is enough to excite the Native Portlander. Which is why we were bundled up and playing mere moments after getting out of bed this mornng. The boys were too little to remember the last really big snow storm we had, so there was tremendous excitement over this dusting. We managed to scrape together a few snowballs, throw them, taste them, smash them onto each others' coats. Max and I re-created our favorite scene from this movie, which became a pretty funny scene itself.

"Max, honey. Okay, stick your tongue out but don't actually touch the pole. Okay? Just get really, really close. That's it. Yikes! Too close, too close! Perfect."
And after taking the last photo in front of our crazy inflatables, it was inside for waffles, hot chocolate and getting ready for school. Let the season begin!

Just another Portaland Native waiting for snow. MORE snow! The kind that keeps you home from work kind of snow.
Love the inflatables....

How lucky for you! Snow - what's that? We're wearing shorts today.

How wonderful to have snow. Where we live it can snow about 20 minutes away, which it did a few weeks ago, but we do not get any here. Your children will surely remember that morning when they are grown and have families of their own to tell, and what a great way to get the children up in the morning. Your kids look so cute in that picture too.

Someone was telling me about this costume they saw on the Today show - someone had the pole with the tongue already stuck to it.

if he's ever inclined again, all you need is some water to re-wet his tongue. then get off the pole immediately.

(being from the midwest is good for something.)

I just finished watching that movie again the other night (I know, Christmas is over, but we didn't get a chance to watch it during the holidays and I missed it). Great picture!!
